African notes Volume 36

African Notes, the Journal of the Institute of African Studies, has been published in Ibadan since 1964. Initially, African Notes was mainly concerned with the on-going projects of the Institute - reporting and publishing the various research activities of its research staff. Gradually, the scope of the Bulletin broadened to include full-length feature articles on a wide variety of topics, from cultural anthropology to history and ethnomusicology, and peace and conflict studies.
