Social Studies: Form 1

Social Studies 1 is the first of a series of social studies books aimed at realising the objectives of the Junior Secondary School Social Studies curriculum. The content of the book represents a detailed coverage of the various aspects of the syllabus and the book will therefore serve as a very useful resource for both teachers and students of junior secondary education social studies. As expected by the Junior Secondary Social Studies syllabus, the content of the book is intended to equip learners with various skills such as critical skills and knowledge skills. In particular, the skills are achieved through both low and high order questions. At the end of each chapter, there are multiple choice questions, short answer questions and essay questions. The former encourages students to acquire knowledge while the latter encourages learners to be critical, interpret and analise the same knowledge. Reference made to experiences of the learner makes learning even more real and practical and thus making more sense.
