Development in Context Book 1

Development Studies is an integrated form of social studies focusing on how societies change and develop economically, socially, geographically and politically. It includes elements of history, geography, economic and political science and sociology.
Now in its second edition, Development in Context is an exciting, multi-authored, successful and up-to-date series. It will be of particular use to students taking the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Cambridge Overseas School Certificate/GCE O Level (COSC).
The new editions of Books 1 and 2 have been updated and extended to include more exercises that are typical of the style of the exams, as well as research guidance and three new chapters. Each book now includes a new chapter on Botswana as a case study in successful African development. Book 2 also now examines the place of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in Africa south of the equator.
